Case Study

Police entered Chantile R's apartment on a complaint that someone in the apartment possessed a firearm. Seven officers entered with weapons drawn, yelling and screaming at the occupants.

Police arrested everyone, even though no weapon was found. Police alleged that the occupants attacked them, and Chantile and her friends were charged with aggravated battery against police officers.

Chantile and her friends said that the police were the aggressors. American Justice took the case to a jury, which acquitted Chantile of all charges.
